It saved me the hassle of having to figure out which email was unread. Open the Mail app and click on the 'Edit' button in the top right corner, then click on an email and click the button in the bottom right that says 'Mark', then click on the 'Mark as unread' button. After you've done that, click on the 'Edit' button again and click on the email that you just marked as unread, then HOLD down the 'Mark' button in the bottom right corner with one finger, and then with your other hand (WHILE STILL HOLDING DOWN ON THE MARK BUTTON) click on the email that is unread so that it is no longer selected. Once you've done that, you can take your finger off of the 'Mark' button. Give it a second and the 'Mark as read' button will appear.
Click on it and it will mark all of your unread messages as read. Here's a video that will help you understand if the directions I posted were confusing lol. I have two accounts on my iPad. I've isolated and deleted both of them and turned them both back on to be sure that the Gmail account is question is the problem, and it is.
I've double checked all of the threads I have for any unread email, and I can't find any. Like I said, the thing that has me scratching my head is that I have the exact same two accounts on my iPhone and my iPad, and the iPad still reads 3 unread emails, while the iPhone shows everything as read.
As for the limits, this occured a few days ago, and new emails have since come and gone, and the iPad always reflects these 3 phantom emails, while the same activity occurs on my phone, sans the 3 emails I can't identify.
